Calcined alumina powder

Product Introduction

The calcined alumina powder produced by our company features high sintering temperature, high α-phase conversion rate, low impurity content, large primary grain size, excellent volume stability at high temperatures, and resistance to erosion and scouring. It serves as a vital raw material for manufacturing high-quality refractory materials.

Product Description

Our AW series calcined α-Al₂O₃ micropowder is produced by calcining industrial aluminum hydroxide or industrial alumina at appropriate temperatures to form crystallographically stable α-alumina products. This micropowder is then manufactured through ball milling using the calcined α-alumina as raw material. Calcined alumina powder is commonly used in shaped refractories such as skid plates, three major components, and corundum bricks, or blended with activated alumina and silica fume for use in unshaped refractories.

When producing resin-bonded products with calcined alumina powder, its low moisture content facilitates uniform mixing and ensures high volume stability. When blended with activated alumina powder or silica fume for unshaped refractories, it forms a particle size distribution with finer powders to achieve densest packing. This reduces water addition and porosity, minimizes linear change rate, and enhances strength.
